These documents govern your use of the Blipday app and website. Please read them carefully before using our service. By using Blipday you agree to these terms.
IMPORTANT: This document contains important information about your legal rights and obligations.
PART ONE
TERMS OF SERVICE
1. Introduction
Welcome to Blipday. These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you ("User", "you", "your") and Blipday Ltd ("Blipday", "we", "us", "our"), a company registered in England and Wales.
By downloading, installing, accessing or using the Blipday mobile application ("App") or website at blipday.com ("Website"), you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use our service.
These Terms apply to all users of the App including visitors, registered users, business partners, event organisers and content contributors.
2. Eligibility and Age Requirements
2.1 Minimum Age
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account and use Blipday.
2.2 Account Responsibility
You are responsible for ensuring that your age information is accurate. Providing false information about your age is a breach of these Terms and may result in immediate account termination.
3. Your Account
3.1 Registration
To use most features of Blipday you must create an account. When registering you agree to:

• Maintain and update your information to keep it accurate
• Keep your password secure and confidential
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorised access to your account at hello@blipday.com
• Accept responsibility for all activity that occurs under your account
3.2 Account Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time if you breach these Terms, engage in harmful behaviour, or for any other reason at our sole discretion. You may delete your account at any time through the app settings or by contacting hello@blipday.com.
4. Acceptable Use
4.1 You May Use Blipday To
• Discover local activities, events, walks, dining and things to do
• Create and share plans with other users
• Connect and communicate with other users attending the same activities
• Submit events, walks, businesses and activities for consideration
• Share Blipday content and plans on other platforms
4.2 You Must Not
When using Blipday you must not:
• Post false, misleading, defamatory, abusive, threatening or offensive content
• Harass, bully, stalk or intimidate other users
• Post content that is obscene, pornographic, or sexually explicit
• Post content that promotes or glorifies violence, self-harm or illegal activity
• Impersonate any person, business or organisation
• Use the app for any commercial purpose without our written consent
• Scrape, crawl or extract data from the app without our written consent
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of our systems
• Upload viruses, malware or any other malicious code
• Use automated tools, bots or scripts to interact with the app
• Violate any applicable local, national or international law or regulation
• Post content that infringes the intellectual property rights of any third party
4.3 Content Standards
All content you submit including event listings, photos, plan descriptions and chat messages must comply with our Community Guidelines. We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these guidelines without notice.
5. Plans, Social Features and User Content
5.1 Creating Plans
When you create a plan on Blipday you are responsible for the accuracy of the information provided including date, time, location and description. Blipday is not responsible for any plans created by users and does not verify the accuracy of user-created content.
5.2 Public Plans
When you set a plan to Public it will be visible to other Blipday users in your area. You understand and consent to this visibility when setting a plan as public. You may change a plan to Private at any time before it takes place.
5.3 Sharing and Invites
When you share a Blipday plan link via WhatsApp, SMS or other channels, you are responsible for ensuring you have the consent of the recipients to receive such messages. Blipday is not responsible for any messages sent by users outside of the app.
5.4 Group Chat
Group chats are provided to help users coordinate attendance at activities and plans. You must use group chats respectfully and in accordance with our acceptable use policy. We reserve the right to remove users from group chats or delete chat content that violates our policies.
5.5 Your Content
You retain ownership of any content you submit to Blipday including photos, descriptions and event listings. By submitting content you grant Blipday a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to use, display, reproduce and distribute your content within the app and for promotional purposes. You can withdraw this licence by deleting the content or your account.
5.6 User Safety
Blipday enables users to discover activities and connect with other users but does not verify the identity, background, suitability, qualifications, intentions or conduct of users unless explicitly stated otherwise.
You acknowledge that interacting with other users, attending events, joining plans, participating in activities, and meeting individuals in person carries inherent risks. You are solely responsible for exercising appropriate caution, judgment and common sense when communicating with or meeting other users.
Blipday does not conduct criminal background checks, identity verification checks, reference checks or ongoing monitoring of users. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Blipday accepts no responsibility or liability for the actions, conduct, negligence, omissions, statements or behaviour of any user whether online or offline.
Users should immediately report any behaviour that violates these Terms or creates safety concerns.
5.7 Chat Room Moderation Policy
Blipday provides group chat and messaging functionality to facilitate communication between users attending activities, events and plans.
Users remain solely responsible for any content, messages, images, links or other material they post through chat features.
Blipday does not actively monitor all communications and cannot guarantee the accuracy, legality, safety or appropriateness of content posted by users.
We reserve the right, but are under no obligation, to review, investigate, moderate, restrict, remove or retain any chat content or user account where we reasonably believe such action is necessary to:
Users may report inappropriate, abusive, unlawful or harmful content through the app. Blipday may cooperate with law enforcement agencies or regulatory authorities where required by law or where we reasonably believe there is a risk to the safety of any individual.
6. Events, Activities and Third Party Content
6.1 Third Party Events
Blipday aggregates event and activity information from third party sources including Eventbrite, council websites, cinema operators and other providers. We do not organise, host or take responsibility for any third party events listed on our platform.
6.2 Accuracy of Listings
While we make reasonable efforts to ensure the accuracy of event listings, we cannot guarantee that all information is current, complete or accurate. Always verify event details directly with the organiser before attending. Blipday accepts no liability for cancelled events, incorrect times, changed locations or any other inaccuracies in third party listings.
6.3 Attendance at Events
You attend any event, activity or plan found through Blipday entirely at your own risk. Blipday is an information platform only and is not the organiser of any event. We accept no responsibility for any injury, loss, damage or other harm arising from attendance at any event or activity found through our app.
6.4 Submitted Content
If you submit an event, walk, business or activity to Blipday you confirm that you have the right to do so and that the information is accurate. We reserve the right to edit, moderate or reject any submitted content without explanation.
6.5 Assumption of Risk
Certain activities, events, walks, sports, outdoor pursuits and social gatherings listed on Blipday may involve physical activity, travel, environmental hazards or other inherent risks.
By participating in any activity, event or meetup discovered through Blipday, you voluntarily assume all risks associated with participation, whether known or unknown.
You are responsible for determining whether an activity is suitable for you and for ensuring that you have any necessary skills, equipment, insurance, fitness level or qualifications required to participate safely.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Blipday accepts no liability for injuries, illness, accidents, losses or damages arising from participation in any activity listed on the platform.
7. Payments and Subscriptions
7.1 Free Tier
The basic features of Blipday are available free of charge. We reserve the right to introduce paid features in the future with reasonable notice to users.
7.2 Blipday Plus
Blipday Plus is a premium subscription service available at a monthly or annual fee as published in the app. By subscribing you authorise us to charge the subscription fee to your payment method on a recurring basis until cancelled.
7.3 Business Listings
Businesses wishing to feature on Blipday may purchase a featured listing. Payment terms and pricing are set out in our Business Listing Agreement which forms part of these Terms for business customers.
7.4 Refunds
Subscription fees are non-refundable except where required by law. If you cancel your Blipday Plus subscription you will continue to have access to premium features until the end of your current billing period. Refund requests should be directed to hello@blipday.com.
7.5 Price Changes
We may change our pricing at any time with 30 days notice to existing subscribers. Continued use of the service after a price change constitutes acceptance of the new pricing.
8. Intellectual Property
8.1 Our Intellectual Property
The Blipday name, logo, app design, code, content and all other materials are the intellectual property of Blipday Ltd and are protected by UK and international copyright, trademark and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute or create derivative works from our intellectual property without our written consent.
8.2 Trademarks
Blipday is a registered trademark of Blipday Ltd. You may not use our trademarks without our prior written consent.
8.3 Feedback
If you provide feedback, suggestions or ideas about Blipday, you grant us the right to use this feedback without restriction or compensation to you.
9. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
9.1 Service Provided As Is
Blipday is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure or free from viruses or other harmful components.
9.2 Limitation of Liability
Blipday acts solely as a technology platform that enables users to discover activities, venues, events and connect with other users.
Blipday does not organise, host, supervise, control, endorse, guarantee, verify or monitor user-created plans, activities, events, meetups or interactions between users.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Blipday Ltd shall not be liable for:
Our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the service shall not exceed the greater of:
(a) the total amount paid by you to Blipday during the twelve months preceding the claim; or
(b) one hundred pounds sterling (£100).
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law, including liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, death or personal injury caused by negligence where such limitation is prohibited by law.
9.3 Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Blipday Ltd, its directors, employees and agents from any claims, damages, losses or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the service, your content, or your breach of these Terms.
9.4 Emergency Services Disclaimer
Blipday is not an emergency service and must not be relied upon for obtaining emergency assistance, medical help, law enforcement support or safeguarding intervention.
If you believe that you or another person is in immediate danger, requires urgent assistance, or is experiencing an emergency, you should immediately contact the appropriate emergency services or local authorities.
Blipday does not guarantee monitoring, review or response to user reports, messages or safety concerns within any specific timeframe.
10. Third Party Services and Links
Blipday may contain links to third party websites, apps and services including but not limited to Eventbrite, cinema operators, restaurant booking platforms and mapping services. We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices or terms of any third party service. Your use of third party services is governed by their respective terms and privacy policies.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes we will notify you by email, in-app notification or by posting a notice on our website at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of Blipday after the effective date of any changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
12. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of Blipday shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
We encourage you to contact us at hello@blipday.com before pursuing any formal legal action. We are committed to resolving disputes fairly and promptly.

2.3 Location Data
Location data is central to how Blipday works. We collect:
• Approximate location when you open the app to show nearby activities — this requires your permission
• Home location if you choose to set one in your profile
• Location of plans and events you create
We do not track your location in the background. Location is only accessed when the app is open and in use. You can withdraw location permission at any time in your device settings, though this will significantly limit the app's functionality.
2.4 Data From Third Parties
If you connect your account via Google or Apple Sign-In we receive your name and email address from those providers. We do not receive your passwords from these providers.

4. Who We Share Your Data With

We do not share your email address, full name, date of birth or location history with other users.

4.3 Legal Requirements
We may disclose your personal data to law enforcement or regulatory authorities where required by law or where we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the safety of any person, prevent illegal activity or comply with a legal obligation.
For safety and moderation purposes, Blipday may review, retain, investigate and disclose user-generated content, reports, chat messages and account information where reasonably necessary to enforce our Terms, protect users, investigate misconduct, respond to complaints, prevent unlawful activity or comply with legal obligations.
4.4 Business Transfers
If Blipday Ltd is acquired, merged or sold, your personal data may be transferred to the new owner as part of the transaction. We will notify you before your data is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
4.5 We Do Not Sell Your Data
Blipday does not sell, rent or trade your personal data to third parties for their marketing purposes. Ever.

8. Data Security
We take the security of your personal data seriously and implement appropriate technical and organisational measures including:
• All data transmitted between your device and our servers is encrypted using TLS/SSL
• Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text
• Access to personal data is restricted to authorised personnel only
• We conduct regular security reviews of our systems
• Payment data is handled entirely by Stripe and never stored on our servers
Despite these measures no internet transmission or storage system is 100% secure. If you believe your account has been compromised please contact us immediately at hello@blipday.com.
8.1 Data Breach Notification
In the event of a personal data breach that is likely to result in a risk to your rights and freedoms, we will notify the Information Commissioner's Office within 72 hours and affected users without undue delay as required by UK GDPR.
9. Children's Privacy
We take the privacy of children very seriously and comply with the UK Children's Code (Age Appropriate Design Code).
Blipday is only available to users aged 18 and over
We do not knowingly collect or process personal data from anyone under the age of 18
If we become aware that a user under 18 has created an account, we will take steps to remove the account and delete associated data promptly
Users must confirm they are at least 18 years old when creating an account
We do not use profiling or behavioural advertising directed at children

10. International Data Transfers
Some of our service providers are based outside the UK and European Economic Area. Where we transfer personal data internationally we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place including:

• Adequacy decisions where the receiving country provides adequate protection
• Binding Corporate Rules where applicable

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements or other factors. When we make material changes we will notify you by email or in-app notification at least 14 days before the changes take effect.
The date at the top of this policy indicates when it was last updated. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
